Realms now work like they were supposed to

I'm excited about this. Firstly realms are now working the way I imagined. Try them out at the demo site. Click one of the realm buttons near the top to see what happens. Secondly realms are no longer hard coded in the main dashboard! (Thank goodness for that). So you can rename, create, delete Realms to you hearts content now. To get this update you probably need to fetch: DashboardsAndPanels, MonkeyGTDPlugin, MonkeyGTDStyles, ToggleTag2, StyleSheet and PageTemplate. There are a few other little fixes also, cosmetic and otherwise. A couple of issues: We still don't auto-populate the realm when creating new items. If something is in two realms it will never show. (It's done this way so that something with no realm will appear, but I plan to fix this somehow).

Also there is a new MainMenu which is quite a bit different. I'm going to focus on the main things you do with GTD. Currently "Do Work" and "Process Inbox" just take you to the Dashboard and "Review" just takes you to the Projects tiddler. Over time these will become specific task oriented dashboards.

I'm trying to decide if I should switch over from using Gmail GTD. This version might just do the trick. It seems so very GTD! Thanks a million for all you hard work. I can't wait until it's live, as I dare not use it now. Any idea when that might be?

Overall I really like this... in fact, I'm going to start over with this version and reapply my own stuff as appropriate.

I like the concept of the Realm selector macro, unfortunately the area where it displays doesn't get refreshed when a realm is added or deleted (you have to save and reload the entire file). That's a minor thing, though.

Well, I see I'll have something to keep me occupied and distracted over the upcoming holiday visit to the in-laws!!

This makes a big difference! I wasn't aware of how noisy was to see info from other realms when trying to focus in a given realm. And it is now so obvious! Thanks! Great job!

And now I feel like rethinking again the area/realm differences/similarities.

While I love filtering actions and projects, I'm not happy with two things:

*filtering ticklers: I always need to be aware of them, no matter if in personal-mode or professional-mode. I want to be reminded about my dentists appointment while in the office

*negative filtering. I have tagged some of my actions as both personal and professional. When I choose to hide personal stuff, these also get filtered.

Ooooh, so very very nice! I must confess I have moved to the beta despite some things I miss (such as the calendar..) ... Keep up the great work

apologies if this has already been discussed - how much thought has been given to inheritance? for example, if I have a project I stick into the area "fundraising" that is part of the realm "work" - shouldn't my project automatically inherit the ream "work" as soon as I select "fundraising" from the area drop down box?

I understand the complexity right now is an area can be part of multiple realms (which is cool but its own beast...i digress...)
